LATUVI-LACHATAO/AMATLAN - 1 day (hiking)

Follow an ancient indigenous trading route...

In pre-Hispanic times, Mesoamerica was connected by a network of trading routes. One of these routes went from the Gulf of Mexico through Oaxaca's central valleys and down to the Pacific Coast.

Parts of these routes still exist today. On our way from Latuvi to Lachatao, we walk on one of these paths - learning about seeing what indigenous life is like today.

The route follows a river and leads through an oak forest full of wild orchids, cacti and Spanish Moss - a true fairy tale forest.

We also offer 1 day trips to the following villages:

Benito Juarez
Cuajimoloyas
Llano Grande
