The Wisdom

Tierrasagrada was born in 2019 as a natural evolution from adventure into the sacred.

After many years of guiding journeys through the mountains and Indigenous communities of Oaxaca, a deeper vision began to emerge — one that focused not only on discovering the outer landscapes of Oaxaca, but also on reconnecting with the inner spirit.

Traditional Indigenous medicine had walked with us from the very beginning. In the communities we visited, people lived in deep connection with the land, with healing plants, ceremonies, and ancestral ways of understanding life and health. These encounters were always part of our journeys, but for many years we did not know how to truly integrate or share this dimension of the work.

It was through the vision of my spiritual sister and teacher Elisabeth Mattern Alcazar that everything became clear.
She felt deeply that the time had come to create a sacred branch dedicated specifically to healing, ancestral wisdom, and spiritual reconnection. From this calling, Tierrasagrada was born.

Today, Tierrasagrada offers individual healing experiences at our home Rancho Media Luna ( close to the city of Oaxaca), sacred journeys, retreats, ceremonies, and earth-based experiences in the mountains and Indigenous communities of Oaxaca. Together with healers, wisdom keepers, medicine women & men we create spaces for transformation, reflection, and reconnection with nature, community, and the soul.

Our intention is to honor and preserve the sacred relationship between people and the Earth while building respectful bridges between ancestral wisdom and the modern world.

Inner Journey - The Heart

Rancho Media Luna

Rancho Media Luna is the heart of Tierrasagrada
a place created for healing, reconnection, and deep immersion in nature.

Located in the foothills of the mountains just outside Oaxaca city Rancho Media Luna was built off the grid by my husband Yves Chavan, using natural construction techniques and a profound respect for the land. Over the years, it has become much more than our home — it is a sanctuary and the living soul of our work.

Surrounded by nature, silence, and mountain energy, this is where many of our individual healing sessions, ceremonies and sacred gatherings take place. Our temazcal, the traditional Indigenous steam bath, is also located here and has become an important space for transformation, prayer, cleansing, and connection.

Rancho Media Luna was created with the intention of living in harmony with the Earth and offering a space where people can slow down, reconnect with themselves, and experience the healing power of nature, community, and ancestral traditions.

Outer Journey - The Horizon

Sacred Journeys to Reconnect with Land, Wisdom and Self
Some paths begin with a destination. Others begin with a call.

The experiences of Tierra Sagrada invite us beyond the familiar and into living landscapes of wisdom, healing and remembrance. We walk mountain paths to ancient sacred sites, visit healers in their communities, sit with stories carried through generations, and learn from the plants that have accompanied people for centuries.

These journeys are not about seeing places — they are about entering into relationship.

Rooted in Oaxaca and inspired by the ancestral wisdom of this land, our encounters lead us into places where nature becomes a teacher and ceremony becomes a way of listening.
Along the way, we meet curanderas, medicine keepers and guardians of ancient traditions who open doors into their worlds with generosity and trust.

As Tierra Sagrada grows, these journeys will extend beyond Oaxaca — creating bridges between cultures, sacred landscapes and ancient wisdom traditions across different parts of the world. Not to compare or combine them, but to honor each place in its uniqueness and explore the universal threads that connect us as human beings.

Through pilgrimage, ceremony and encounters with the land and its people, we create space to slow down, remember and reconnect with a more ancient rhythm of life.

Each journey is an invitation to cross not only geographical borders, but inner ones — and to discover that the horizon is never an end point, but the beginning of a deeper relationship with life.
