Rediscovering the ancient art of creating medicine with our own hands
Journey: Outer Journey - The Horizon
Our journey begins in the vibrant markets of Oaxaca — among colors, scents, and stalls overflowing with medicinal plants, herbs, roots, and ingredients that have been part of local healing traditions for generations. Together, we explore this living world of plant wisdom and choose the ingredients for our day.
From there, we are welcomed into the home of Lorena Villanueva, a curandera who has dedicated more than 25 years to the path of traditional healing. In her kitchen — a place of everyday alchemy — she shares her knowledge of plants, remedies, and the simple yet profound ways medicine is created at home.
Together, we prepare our own healing remedies using traditional recipes and techniques passed down through generations. More than a workshop, this is an intimate encounter with a living tradition — a chance to experience healing not as something separate from life, but woven into food, plants, care, and community.
The Witches' Kitchen invites us to rediscover the ancient art of creating medicine with our own hands — and to remember that healing often begins in the most ordinary and sacred place of all: the kitchen
